Ads
Spend Sutra does not show any ads
Advertising is fully disabled in the current version of the app. No banner, interstitial, or rewarded ads are shown anywhere in the app, and no advertising SDK is initialized at runtime.
How advertising will work once enabled
A future release may introduce advertising via Google AdMob. This section documents that design in advance so the intended behavior is transparent.
Ad formats
- Banner ads — small, static placements at the bottom of primary screens (Dashboard, Transactions, Budget, Settings).
- Interstitial ads — full-screen ads shown only at natural breaks (for example, right after a manual sync finishes), capped to at most once every 10 minutes, and never during onboarding, never on a data-entry form, and never within the first 2 minutes of a session.
- Rewarded ads — optional, user-initiated ads a person can choose to watch in Settings in exchange for a short ad-free period.
Consent and tracking
- Before any ad is requested, Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form is shown, covering GDPR (EEA), UK, and US state privacy law requirements.
- On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt is requested before any tracking-based ad personalization occurs, and ads are served as non-personalized if permission is declined.
- Declining consent does not block use of the app — it only limits ad personalization.
Removing ads
Once enabled, ads can be removed for a period by watching a rewarded ad, or permanently via an optional paid subscription. Neither purchase affects any core feature of the app — Spend Sutra's transaction tracking, budgeting, and backup features work identically with or without a subscription.
This page will be updated with the actual ad unit configuration and any change in ad behavior before advertising is enabled in a live release.
